Joanna Hogg of Haw River and Erik Almquist of Grand Forks, N.D. were wed at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the Ashe County Arts Council in West Jefferson.
The bride is the daughter of Jeffery and Jennifer Hogg of Haw River. She is the granddaughter of Kathleen Hogg of Reading, Pa. and Carl and Jackie Fisher of Haw River. The groom is the son of Laine and Lisa Almquist of Grand Forks, N.D. He is the grandson of Clayann Almquist of Fargo, N.D.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents.
The bride graduated from Eastern Alamance High School in Mebane and earned a Bachelor of Sciencedegree in pre-law from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. She is enrolled in the Master Program for International Government Affairs at Liberty University.
The groom graduated from Cameron High School in Cameron, Wis. and he earned his degree in restaurant management from Northwest College, Grand Forks. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years in Wisconsin. He is currently employed with Battleground Restaurant Management of Greensboro.
