Announcement is made of the engagement of Frances Elizabeth Ellington of Marina del Rey, CA, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amzi Jefferson Ellington, III of Blowing Rock and Burlington, to Brandon Ray Gutierrez of Marina del Rey, CA, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hatfield of Santa Monica, CA and Mr. and Mrs. Ramon Gutierrez of Black Diamond, WA.
A spring 2019 wedding is planned.
The bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Kelly Elder, Sr., the late Dr. Amzi Jefferson Ellington, Jr. and the late Mrs. Elizabeth Anne “Betty Anne” Yowell Ellington.
The groom is the grandson of Ms. Carmen Herrera of Covington, WA and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesus Herrera.
The bride graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor's degree in business administration and master's degree in accounting. She recently graduated from the Grenoble École de Management with a doctorate in business administration. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Senior Tax Manager at Green Hasson Janks, a boutique accounting firm in Los Angeles, CA.
The groom graduated from the University of Washington with a bachelor's degree in economics. He works in the television and film industry in Los Angeles, CA and is part of the International Cinematographers Guild. He is currently working on a feature adaptation of Jack London’s classic novel, "Call of the Wild."
