Catherine Corman Smith and Jorge Luis Montezuma Lostaunau were wed at 5 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019, in an outdoor ceremony at The Addison Farm in Elon. Pastor Jason McDaniel officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. Christopher Edmund Smith and Mrs. Diane Phillips Smith of Burlington. The groom is the son of Mrs. Julia Lostaunau Caballero of Lima, PerĂº, and the late Tte. Crl. Jorge Arturo Montezuma Arriaga.
After graduating from Williams High School in 2008, the bride earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina in 2011 and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2017. In August, she finished a clerkship with the Honorable Bobby R. Baldock on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in Roswell, N.M.
After graduating from Camarillo High School in 2005, the groom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from California Polytechnic State University in 2010 and a Master's degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2016. In August, Jorge finished working as a project engineer with the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County.
The couple will live in Washington, D.C., where Catherine will work as a trial attorney for the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and Jorge will work as an environmental engineering consultant.
