GREEN LEVEL — One woman was killed and three other people were injured Friday night when a woman reportedly drove her car into them on purpose, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office said.
Tamyiah Lakerria Anderson is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Brendy Janet Garcia Resendiz, 22, of Graham.
Anderson had gone to a house in the 2400 block of East Simpson Road about 10:45 p.m. and got into a fight with other people there, the sheriff’s office said.
Witnesses reported that Anderson then got into her vehicle and struck four people in the road, and Resendiz and other other person were dragged by the vehicle, killing Resendiz and seriously injuring the other, whose name was not released. Two others had minor injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
Anderson drove away but wrecked into a concrete barrier at a nearby mobile home park, the sheriff’s office said.
Anderson was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
In addition to murder, Anderson was charged by the sheriff’s office with three counts felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and she was charged by the N.C. State Highway Patrol with driving while impaired, having an open container of alcohol, resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer, driving left of center and seatbelt violation.
