Four people from the same household have been arrested and accused of passing counterfeit money, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office said.
From Friday, May 10, through Monday, May 13, a number of businesses in northern Alamance County reported that counterfeit currency was being used to pay for merchandise and gas and being exchanged for change, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies developed four suspects who all live at the same address, 724 Morton Drive, Burlington.
On Tuesday, deputies executed a search warrant at the house and found counterfeit currency, illegal narcotics and several firearms, some of which had been reported as stolen, the sheriff’s office said.
Kevin Craig Davis, 47; Shannon Deane Davis, 44; Dustin Craig Davis, 27; and Rachel Marie Hall, 28, were arrested and taken to the Alamance County Jail.
Kevin and Shannon Davis each were charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of felony possession of a stolen firearm, felony possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, three counts of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor child abuse.
Shannon Davis also was charged with two counts each of felony obtaining property by false pretenses and felony uttering a forged instrument, and with misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and misdemeanor resisting a public officer.
Dustin Davis was charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, felony obtaining property by false pretenses and felony uttering a forged instrument.
Hall was charged with felony obtaining property by false pretenses and felony uttering a forged instrument.
