GIBSONVILLE – A Whitsett man has been arrested in the hit-and-run death of a Burlington man in eastern Guilford County last Friday.
Ricky Lynn Summers, 24, was arrested Wednesday after the N.C. State Highway Patrol sent out photos of the white Ford pickup thought to be the vehicle that hit Andrew Marshall Jenkins, 40, while he was walking on U.S. 70 near N.C. 61 in eastern Guilford County about 7:45 a.m. Sept. 8.
Summers was charged with felony hit and run, misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to reduce speed. He was taken to the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro. His bond was set at $25,000 secured.
Summers is scheduled to appear in Guilford County Superior Court on Oct. 17.
