Two convicted felons were arrested Monday after the car they were in was stopped and guns and drugs were found in the car, law enforcement officials announced Wednesday morning.
On Monday the Alamance Narcotics Enforcement Team and Alamance County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop. A search of the car found an assortment of fentanyl pills, two firearms, cocaine and cash, a press release said. The press release did not specify how much of each was found.
Jaheem Lashar Watson, 33, of Burlington was charged with felony possession of a stolen firearm, felony possession of a farearm by a convicted felon, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession with intent to sell or distribute a Schedule II controlled substance and felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance. His bond was set at $250,000 secured.
Monte Deshawn Byrd, 27, of Burlington was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $50,000 secured.
