BURLINGTON — A 19-year-old Burlington man accused earlier this month of secretly recording videos of women and girls in a church women’s restroom has had new charges filed against him, the Burlington Police Department said.
Isai Lara Bolaina initially was arrested after police investigated a report received April 28 and found a recording device in the women’s room at Jesus es Vida Church on Hawkins Street.
New charges were filed Friday, May 17, after finding additional victims through Bolaina’s interactions with the Jesus es Vida Church, police said.
Bolaina was charged Friday with secretly using a photographic imaging device to view another’s body or undergarments, possessing a photographic image obtained in violation of the peeping statute, and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Bolaina was being held at the Alamance County Detention Center with no bond allowed.
Bolaina previously was charged with one count of indecent liberties with children and one count of secretly peeping into a room occupied by a female.
