Police are asking for the public's help in finding a car seen in the Graham and Burlington areas last week that may be linked to the fatal shooting of a man who later wrecked his own car in Greensboro.
William Christopher Murphy, 21, wrecked about 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, on Interstate 840 between Burlington Road and Interstate 40/85. He was taken to a hospital and died on April 28.
After an investigation, police determined Murphy had been shot, the Greensboro Police Department said.
Greensboro police are seeking still images or dash camera video of two vehicles that were reported driving recklessly and speeding from the Graham/Burlington area toward Greensboro on I-40 between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on April 25.
One was the older-model black Pontiac Grand Prix that Murphy was driving, and the other was a red/burgundy, newer-model sedan, possibly a Honda, and had dark-tinted windows.
Police ask that anyone with information contact Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
