The Alamance-Burlington Board of Education is asking for input from interested students, school staff, parents, other members of the community to help shape the search for the next superintendent of Alamance-Burlington School System.
The board has hired the North Carolina School Boards Association to help with the search and is asking the public to take part in a community survey on the characteristics, experience and skills that should be sought in the next ABSS superintendent.
In addition, all ABSS employees will have an opportunity to complete a separate online survey. Details about completing this survey will be communicated to employees through school system email.
All surveys must be completed by Tuesday, May 14, with results to be compiled, summarized and presented by NCSBA at the ABSS Board of Education meeting on May 28.
In addition to the surveys, local groups and organizations may submit written statements regarding the leadership qualities that they consider important in the next superintendent. Such statements should be submitted directly to NCSBA via e-mail at sthorp@ncsba.org and should be received no later than Tuesday, May 14.
