Two students were involved in an altercation involving a knife at Cummings High School in Burlington Tuesday afternoon, according to a social media post from Alamance-Burlington School Systems, ABSS.
Emergency medical services were called to the Hugh M Cummings High School, and the incident has been turned over to the Burlington Police Department, according to ABSS.
This was an isolated incident and no other students were injured in the altercation, according to ABSS. The school district says at least one student will be suspended for 365 days and could face criminal charges, according to FOX 8.
Burlington police say that the students did not have life-threatening injuries but one student was taken to the hospital, according to FOX 8. It’s unknown if the student taken to the hospital was cut or stabbed.
