GRAHAM – A Graham man was killed Friday night when he stepped into a road and was hit by a car.
Earl Ray Brooks, 76, walked out into East Harden Street at Woody Drive about 10 p.m., the Graham Police Department said.

GRAHAM – A Graham man was killed Friday night when he stepped into a road and was hit by a car.
Earl Ray Brooks, 76, walked out into East Harden Street at Woody Drive about 10 p.m., the Graham Police Department said.
When police officers arrived they immediately started CPR. When EMS arrived, they pronounced Brooks dead, police said.
The driver who hit Brooks stayed at the scene of the accident. No charges will be filed, police said.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Brooks may have been intoxicated, police said. This will be investigated by the medical examiner's office.
