Nine people were displaced Thursday after a fire heavily damaged their home on McKinney Street in Burlington.
Burlington firefighters were called to 2536 McKinney St. at about 10:40 a.m. in response to a house fire. On scene, firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the front and back of the house.
The fire was under control within 20 minutes, but the fire left extensive damage. Damage is estimated at $60,000 to the structure and $15,000 to the contents.
Three adults and six children were displaced from the home and the American Red Cross has stepped in to assist them.
The cause of the fire was deemed accidental.
