The "Embracing Peace" statue that has occupied the front lawn of Alamance Arts for a long time will soon be gone.
Seward Johnson's traveling art piece, which has displayed all over from New York City to Rome, will leave Alamance County in August.
The statue is a rendition of the iconic 1945 photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt, V–J day in Times Square.
The last day to view it before it is dismantled will be Aug. 14.
An Alamance County resident has set up a pay-what-you-can farm stand at her home in Graham.
Cierra Michelle Kimrey advertised the farm stand on Facebook, noting that organic produce is handpicked each day to stock the stand. Visitors are asked to pay what they can, either with cash or using the QR code at the stand to make online payments.
The farm stand is located at 3966 Mount Hermon Rock Creek Road, Graham. Because it is located on a busy road, visitors are asked to pull into the roundabout driveway to avoid an accident.
