More than 4,000 households are without power in Alamance County due to storms from hurricane Zeta.
Hurricane Zeta hit landfall Wednesday in Louisiana. It is the 11th tropical storm or hurricane to hit the U.S. this year, setting a new record according to an article by USA Today.
More than 400,000 people across the state of North Carolina are without power Thursday morning, according to the N.C. Department of Public Safety. Just before 12:30 p.m, the Department of Public Safety's ReadyNC map reported 4,466 outages in Alamance County.
A message on Duke Energy's website says that damage assessment is underway, and repairs are being made where conditions allow.
"Due to the severity of the damage to parts of our system, power restoration may be delayed," the website reads.
The storm caused some damage across the county.
Elon University had at least two trees fall during the storm Thursday morning. Stoplights were without power at 1:30 p.m. at Elon.
