BURLINGTON — Mr. William Harry Freeman, 91, passed on March 11, 2024, while visiting family in Oklahoma. He was a resident of Burlington, NC and a member of First Baptist Church of Randleman.
A Vietnam War Veteran, Mr. Freeman flew KC 97s and KC 135s in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves until his separation as a Major.
Mr. Freeman’s first loves were family, flying and fishing. His favorite family time was fishing with them from piers along the NC coast, or a pond in the country, playing cards and sharing baseball and basketball games, especially with his son in-laws and grandchildren.
A widower (Julia Glen Hargrove) since 1979, Mr. Freeman leaves behind 4 daughters (the 5th preceded him in death), 8 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, many of whom are continuing his legacy of service. A private family interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, VA.
