There is so much just plain ol' evil going on in our country with the number of shootings reported each day and the theft and robberies we hear and read about.
Well I just wanted to take a minute and defend a whole lot of people who view their neighbors and those with whom they come in contact with an entirely different attitude.
I am 85 years old and as I go around town visiting stores or restaurants as necessary, I find people are quick to offer assistance if needed.
For example, while leaving a local sandwich shop with my cane in one hand and a bag in the other, a young girl about 14 jumped up to open the door for me. I told her, "Thank you," and, "You have wonderful manners."
Next I was checking out at Walmart and a young man in line behind me noticed I had a 40-bottle case of water. I had asked a young man earlier to put it in my basket. He said, "Sir, may I follow you to your car and put that water in your trunk?" I told him I would appreciate it as I was parked straight across from the door. He followed me and unloaded all the bags and took the cart.
This is the greatest country in the world. We have some of the most wonderful people in the world. I thank God for being born here, and we just have to not let it be torn apart.
