Following an upset victory over previously undefeated Wake Forest, UNC football (5-4) will play a road game against the No. 25 ranked Pittsburgh Panthers (7-2).
In their previous game, Sam Howell and the Tar Heels handed Wake Forest their first loss of the season, 58-55. Ty Chandler proved to be the catalyst in the win, rushing for career bests with 213 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Howell added 104 rush yards and two TDs himself.
After the win, Chandler said “we’ve been grinding” and “this is what we’ve been working for” as he assessed the rewards of the Tar Heels’ comeback.
Can that mindset carry over to another key showdown against another ranked opponent in Pitt?
The Panthers picked up a win in their previous contest as well. After a slow start in the first quarter against Duke, Pitt picked it up and cruised to a 54-29 victory.

All-time against Pitt, UNC football has a 10-4 record, according to Sports Reference data. In the previous meeting between these two programs on the gridiron, however, the Panthers got the win with a 34-27 final score.
