B-Town Events, Burlington’s special events divisions, has two new, coronavirus-safe Halloween activities planned this year.
• The D-town B-town Bat Hunt is Oct. 16–28. Participants will venture through downtown to find bats flying in merchants’ windows. Completed hunts will be entered into a drawing to win Halloween activity bags and Downtown Dollars.
• The B-town Halloween Cruise-Thru will be 1–4 p.m. Oct. 24. Participants will drive through “witchy performances, themed decorations, costumed people and more” on the way to pick up trick-or-treat goodie bags for children.
These events will take the place of Burlington’s usual two Halloween events, Dark in the Park and the Downtown Spooktacular, neither of which are permitted under the order restricting outdoor gatherings to 50 people or fewer. The city’s goal is to provide fun activities while keeping interaction minimal.
