Raleigh and Durham are among the nation’s top 20 cities for employment bouncing back, according to an analysis by personal finance website WalletHub. All of the North Carolina cities evaluated were in the top 25 percent.
Nationally, unemployment has fallen to 11.1 percent from the peak of 14.7 percent at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
WalletHub used adjusted data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Here are the 20 most-recovered cities:
1. Lexington-Fayette County, Ky.
2. Louisville, Ky.
3. Bismarck, N.D.
4. Nampa, Idaho
5. Cheyenne, Wyo.
6. Las Cruces, N.M.
7. Washington
8. Billings, Mont.
9. Amarillo, Texas
10. Boise, Idaho
11. West Valley City, Utah
12. Augusta, Ga.
13. Durham
14. Tallahassee, Fla.
15. Lubbock, Texas
