Women’s awards nominees announced

BURLINGTON — The Women’s Resource Center has announced nominees for the seventh annual Leading the Way, an event honoring two women who are “leading the way” in Alamance County.

The Founders’ Award goes to a female leader who demonstrates the characteristics of the WRC’s founding members by contributing in philanthropy, community development and mentoring. The Rising Star Award goes to the most deserving nominee under the age of 40.

Nominees for the Founders’ Award are Sarah Black, Dreama Caldwell, Cathy Dusenberry, Ann Honeycutt and Sherri Singer. Nominees for the Rising Star are DeJuana WarrenBigelow, Casey Locker and Emily Sharpe.

Leading the Way will be a virtual event on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
