The Friends of Alamance County Public Libraries will accept book donations at its “Drive Up and Drop Off” event Friday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at May Memorial Library, 342 S. Spring St., Burlington (use Davis Street entrance). Donations will be accepted other times at any Alamance County Public Library.
Open air job fair at NCWorks Career Center, 2640 Columbine Lane, Burlington, on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 2-5 p.m. Bring resume. Free public Wi-Fi available in parking lot. First Baptist Church of Haw River, 508 E. Main St., will offer a free community meal on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Men’s Coffee Club meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 10 a.m. at Beth Schmidt Park picnic pavilion (across from Community Center), 2150 Elon Park Drive, Elon. Early voting information available. Alamance Chamber golf tournament Friday, Oct. 23, at Indian Valley Golf Course, 1005 Indian Valley Drive, Burlington. Reservations required for tee times. Timed tee times available from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. A boxed lunch will be provided for golfers and sponsors. Golfer registration: $300 for a team, including one tee time for four golfers, lunch, two mulligans per golfer and refreshments; $90 for an individual, including one tee time, lunch, two mulligans and refreshments.
