A 15-year-old boy was injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon, police said.
At 12:40 p.m., police responded to the 1500 block of South Mebane Street in Burlington for a report of a shooting. The victim was conscious when police arrived, and he was taken to the hospital, according to a news release.
Police believe the teenager was injured after an accidental discharge of a firearm involving at least two children in an adjacent apartment. There is no known relationship between those juveniles and the victim.
