Ace Cycle Sales, a Burlington motorcycle dealership, caught fire on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire department responded just before 1 p.m. to find the building, located at 2468 North Church Street, engulfed in "heavy fire and smoke," according to a press release. They had the fire under control within two hours, and the building suffered substantial damage, said Daniel Shoffner, public information officer for the fire department.
No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
North Church Street is closed Wednesday afternoon from Sellars Mill Road to McKinney Street. Shoffner asked for people to avoid the area and said it's unclear when the road will reopen.
Responding agencies included the Burlington Fire Department, the Burlington Police Department, the Haw River Fire Department, Alamance County EMS, Alamance County Emergency Management, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas and the North Carolina Office of the State Fire Marshal.
