The Children’s Museum of Alamance County will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8 after a short term closure during the COVID-19 crisis.
The museum will reopen at half capacity and all guests over the age of 4 will be required to wear a mask.
The closure which last just under five weeks, was announced on social media on Aug. 6. An unnamed representative of the museum responded to comments on the closure post, explaining that financial strains on the non-profit during COVID-19 contributed to the temporary shutdown.
“The children’s museum of Alamance is a nonprofit and trying to operate under limited capacities has strained our resources. Keeping the museum running and open with the expenses such as payroll, utilities, cleaning, etc., without our normal daily income has been a struggle,” the CMACKids Instagram account wrote.
Beginning next week, the museum will resume normal business hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
