A child was shot in Mebane Saturday afternoon and local police are seeking community assistance to solve the case.
Mebane police were called to West Stagecoach Road at 4 p.m. Saturday in reference to a child shot. On scene, officers found an 8-year-old with a gunshot wound to his back. The victim and his family were driving when their vehicle was shot at.
The child was transported to the hospital and was in stable condition as of Monday morning.
