Mebane United Methodist Church launched a community project during this year’s season of Lent. “From the Manger to the Cross” asks community members to donate non-perishable food, cleaning products and personal toiletries which will be placed in a manger below a cross on the front porch of the church. Items will be available to anyone in need between February 24 and April 1.
"This year for Lent as we move toward Easter, we are going to focus on giving. Instead of not doing something we will give something each day,” said Carla Parks, project spokesperson.
The church is located at 220 S. Fourth Street, Mebane.
