As I get out and about in Alamance County I understand why we are still finding ourselves in the midst of a pandemic with attempts to keep us in and some businesses closed. We seem very determined to ignore medical and governmental suggestions and restrictions.
In a recent visit to a tire store in one of the cities none of the employees wore masks and some of the customers did not wear masks. In a visit to an ice cream store, the employees did not wear masks. And in a visit to a major chain drugstore, there were employees wearing masks improperly, under their nose, and one employee without a mask. Also, there were several customers without masks or wearing them below the nose. In our college town, there were reports of student parties without masks or social distancing and more people than allowed by current government mandates.
