Letter: Mebane man accuses reporters of using biased language

I was once a reporter for this newspaper. I was not trained in journalism, but was hired because I exhibited some promise with the PSAs I wrote over a period of several years. Therefore, Jay Ashley, along with Don Bolden and Jim Wilson, taught me all I learned during my brief newspaper career.

The main thing I learned was to write the facts without personal opinions or slanted language. Isaac Grove and Dean-Paul Stephens blatantly show their prejudices and biases in the adjectives and adverbs they chose to include in what is supposed to be a factual account of events, people, places and the like. They are not reporting. They are writing opinion pieces.

Isaac and Dean-Paul, please write just the facts. Leave out your biased thoughts. Let me, as the reader, read what happened from factual reporting and form my own opinions. Please be true journalists.
