At a board of education meeting Monday night, Orange County Schools adopted additional COVID-19 safety protocols, which include a mask requirement for athletes at all times, regardless of vaccination status, and a limit of two spectators per athlete with spectators to be masked both at indoor and outdoor events, according to a report from HighSchoolOT.
Williams athletics director Todd Davis said it was his understanding that those protocols will only be in place for visiting teams when their games take place in Orange County, but not necessarily for host schools when Orange County teams play in Alamance County.
Athletics directors at Eastern, Western and Williams were unsure if Orange County teams will still follow those protocols when going on the road.
