The occupants were out of the house, and it took firefighters about 20 minutes to get the blaze under control. They were on the scene for more than two hours making sure it was completely extinguished because flames had spread through so much of the house.
The fire department estimates there was $60,000 damage done to the house and $20,000 done to its contents and believes an untended candle in a bedroom left next to a “combustible” started the fire
The American Red Cross is helping the adult and child who had been living in the house.
