Davis, who works as a warehouse lead, bought the Quick Pick ticket for that night's drawing on the NC Lottery app.

Burlington resident Rhonda Davis bought her lucky lottery ticket, winning her more than half a million dollars, on St. Patrick's Day.
Davis, who works as a warehouse lead, bought the Quick Pick ticket for that night's drawing on the NC Lottery app.
The next morning, she woke up around 5 a.m. and saw she had an email but didn't open it. Later in the morning as she got ready for work, Davis opened the email and learned she had won half the $1.6 million Cash 5 jackpot.
“I just sat there stunned like, ‘Is this for real?’” she said. “I had to pull myself together and I actually went to work that day.”

Davis took home around $583,000 after taxes. She plans to use the money to renovate her house and "help out a couple of people."
Carolina Cash 5 drawings are held every night, and tickets are $1. The odds of winning are 1 in 962,598.
