GRAHAM — A 14-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with attempted murder and other charges in connection with a shooting, police said.
Detectives with the Graham Police Department were assisting the Haw River Police Department with the execution of a search warrant at the teen’s residence related to an attempted murder investigation they were conducting stemming from a shooting between two vehicles that happened early on Feb. 10.
That shooting was reported about 1:45 a.m. near East Main Street and South State Street in Haw River. Officers determined that the shooting was part of a dispute between people in two vehicles that started in Burlington and continued into Haw River.
On the afternoon of Feb. 10, police arrested two juveniles who were involved and charged them with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle and discharging a weapon in the city limits.
Upon further investigation, a third juvenile was identified on Tuesday, March 12, and he was arrested on Friday. During a search of the house, police found a stolen AR pistol.
A juvenile secure custody order was filed by Haw River police on charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and discharging a firearm into an occupied property.
He has been charged by the Graham Police Department with possession of a stolen firearm.
All three teens were being held at juvenile detention facilities.
