BURLINGTON — Police have arrested a man in a shooting earlier this month that injured a woman.
Raheem Alphonso Maynard, 28, of Burlington turned himself in on Wednesday at the Alamance County Detention Center, where he was charged with two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle and one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was being held with no bond allowed.
The Burlington Police Department said that Maynard was in an altercation with another person about 12:15 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at the intersection of Brown Bear Drive and Tucker Street when he began shooting at a car.
A 28-year-old woman was shot. She was taken to a local hospital. Since then she has been released and is expected to make a full recovery, police said. Her name was not released.
