BURLINGTON — Police are searching for a man who posed as a police officer when he stole a man’s wallet two weeks ago.
A man was walking in the 900 block of East Webb Avenue in Burlington about 6:30 p.m. on March 21 when a man driving a silver 2020 to 2024 Ford Explorer pulled up, the Burlington Police Department said. The man in the Explorer identified himself as a police officer, took the pedestrian’s wallet and drove away. Police did not say how much money was in the wallet.
The man in the Explorer was described as Middle Eastern and 30 to 40 years old with tattoos on his right arm, minimal facial hair, dark eyes and black hair, police said. He wore a black shirt and had a black firearm in his waistband.
