In the year since the federal Paycheck Protection Loan program rolled out, Alamance County businesses have received more than $263 million in funding to support their enterprises.

In an effort to show taxpayers where their money went, the Times-News is spending the next few weeks sharing data about PPP loan recipients, how much PPP money was funneled into the local economy, what cities were most assisted by the funding, and which industries have been supported by this funding.
In all, 38 nonprofit organizations in Alamance County received PPP loans. This week, we’re looking at the top 10 largest loans given to local nonprofits:
- AuthoraCare Collective/Hospice at Greensboro, Inc.: $4,115,603
- Burlington Christian Academy Inc.: $698,440
- The Community Young Men’s Christian Association of Alamance: $193,400
- Family Abuse Services of Alamance County: $174,857
- First Presbyterian Church Child Development: $112,975
- Ebenezer United Church of Christ: $93,476
- Swepsonville Volunteer Fire Department Inc.: $89,566
- North Carolina Families United Inc.: $88,505
- The United Way of Alamance County, North Carolina, Inc.: $86,892
- First United Methodist Church of Elon: $82,900
All but two of these nonprofits are based in Burlington. First United Methodist Church is based in Elon and the Swepsonville Fire Department is located near Graham.
