MEBANE – A Graham woman is accused of providing the heroin that led to an overdose late Monday night by another person.
The overdose at a house in the 2300 block of U.S. 70 was reported about midnight, and the person was unconscious when Alamance County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Haw River Police Department officers.
A Haw River officer administered one dose of Narcan moments prior to the arrival of EMS, the sheriff’s office said. The patient regained consciousness and was evaluated by EMS. The patient was not taken to the hospital.
During the investigation, deputies found that the individual had overdosed on heroin given by Isabelle Ann Lucas, 24, of North Maple Street, who was at the house, the sheriff’s office said. Cellophane baggies containing a white, powdery substance were in plain view, and Lucas said they were hers, the sheriff’s office said.
Lucas was charged with felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and was taken to the Alamance County Detention Center. Her bond was set at $10,000 secured.
