Young musicians in the Alamance-Burlington School System are getting a chance to work with a renowned professional musician for two days, and at the end they will all put on a public concert.
Young Musicians of Alamance is hosting “Electrify Your Symphony,” which will bring in electric violinist Mark Wood, Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s original string master, for workshops with the students.
Wood and the students will perform a concert offering a fusion of classical instruments and modern electric sounds, playing a range of music from iconic rock anthems to popular masterpieces, on Saturday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. at Front Street United Methodist Church, 136 S. Fisher St. in Burlington.
Tickets are $25 each and are on sale online at eventbrite.com (search for “Electrify Your Symphony”), and tickets also will be for sale at the door.
