A movie that was filmed at sites in Alamance County won two awards at a film festival in France recent.
P.E. Marston Films’ 2024 “Too Little, Too Late” was awarded Best Fantasy Feature Film at the 2024 Avignon International Film Festival in Avignon, France. Writer/director/star Neill Fleeman was also recognized as Best Director, Feature Film.
Sites where scenes for “Too Little, Too Late” were filmed included the historic Morrow-Barnwell House in Burlington, the Textile Heritage Museum in Glencoe and the Fountain Place neighborhood in Burlington.
In “Too Little, Too Late,” Fleeman also reprises his role from a previous film, “A Little Touch of Harry,” as hapless film director Harry Little. Little, after faking his death in “A Little Touch of Harry,” is killed by a piece of space junk and sent to the Re-Cycling Center to await a return to real life (“Flashback in Paradise”). His case worker, Ariel (Alli Mae Carnes), who had died in 1918, had longed to be an actress in the silent film days but her father forbade it. Harry makes it possible for her to become an actress and intends for them to return to real life as a double act; however, Ariel is sent back without him and Harry is left alone. Eventually, Ariel and Harry are reunited and their May-December relationship is resolved.
The film also stars Edd Robinson (“Leatherheads,” “Blackbird Bye Bye,” “The Third Act,” “Hunger Games” 1 and 2 and “The Conspirator”), Alli Mae Carnes (“Flashback in Paradise”), Jill Clayton, Meredith Tingen (“The Third Act,” “Homeland” and “A Little Touch of Harry”) and John Collier (“A Little Touch of Harry”).
