BURLINGTON — Two mobile homes near each other caught on fire and were destroyed on Friday, leaving two families looking for a place to stay.
The fires at 2844 Maple Ave. were reported about 12:35 p.m., the Burlington Fire Department said. The first firefighters arrived to find both on fire.
Firefighters ensured there was no one in either one and began to extinguish the fires. Firefighters were the on scene for an extended period making sure all hotspots were out given the extensive fire damage, the fire department said. Both mobile homes were a total loss.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation.
The fires displaced two families, one of whom was being assisted by the American Red Cross. The other was being helped by family members.
