BURLINGTON — The Alamance County Historical Museum invites the community to a luncheon on Thursday, April 25, with Linda Carnes-McNaughton, who will discuss the Overhills estate and the development of Fort Bragg.

Overhills in the Sandhills region of North Carolina was a private estate and nature preserve owned by Percy Avery Rockefeller (1878-1934) and his descendants. The estate included a Donald Ross-designed golf course, polo field, stables, kennels and extensive bridle trails, as well as several Rockefeller homes, including Croaton (1929) and Birdsong (1963).
