Suspect in Green Level murder arrested in Florida

Lloyd Carvon Gillis Jr., 29, of Burlington, was arrested by the Volusia County, Florida Sheriff's Office on a first degree murder charge.  

Deputies say just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, Christopher Tyrick Gattis, 24, of Green Level, N.C. was shot as he tried to leave a home in the 2200 block of James Boswell Road. He later died of his injuries.

The Sheriff's Office identified Gillis as a suspect in the murder, and authorities have been searching for him since mid-October. 

Tucker said Gillis is currently in custody and that the Alamance County District Attorney's office is handling arrangements to have him brought back to Alamance County for trial.
