As fall weather creeps its way into Alamance County, it is the perfect time to stroll through downtown and take in the sights, sounds and smells of fall. While youâre out, try hunting down the countyâs most âInstagram-able" murals.Â
The county is home to a multitude of public art pieces, especially murals, and more keep popping up all the time. Gather family, friends or loved ones and check them out. Donât forget to snap a few selfies along the way.Â
To help you plan your stroll, we've created a list of the most prominent downtown area murals, organized by city. This list does not include every mural or public art piece in the county, but rather focuses on those clustered around downtown districts.Â
Gibsonville
Gibsonville added a new mural to its downtown area in 2020. The piece, created by Gina Elizabeth Franco, is located on the side of 133 W. Main St.
Burlington
This mural by artist Mauricio Ramirez is located on the back of Bella's House on Front Street in Burlington. It is the first of three murals planned for downtown Burlington.
Just up the road on Front Street is the Dance It Out mural by Gina Franco. This mural is on the wall at Walkerdance Ballet Theatre at 263 E. Front St. This is the latest mural added downtown by the Downtown Burlington Corporation.

Graham

Mebane
Muffin's Ice Cream Shoppe on N. 4th Street has this large mural on the side of its building. It was not signed by the artist.
Downtown Mebane is home to a few murals, including this classic Coca-Cola piece on the side of Dick & Jane's on West Clay Street. The piece is not signed by the artist.
The corner of West Center and North 4th Streets in Mebane is a double feature for murals in the area, including this piece on the side of 104 West Center St. The mural was not signed by the artist.
