Thursday was the second day the coronavirus vaccine has been available to those over 75 in Alamance County, and for the second day in a row, the vaccination distribution site reached capacity in the morning.
At of 6:15 a.m, the site at the Career and Technical Education Center reached capacity, and cars were being turned away.
"Capacity is determined by traffic patterns, safety concerns and current staffing," according to a press release from the city of Burlington.
Those who want to track vaccination start and stop times should check the county health department's website, Facebook and Twitter.
On Wednesday, 540 people were vaccinated, which is around one per minute, the press release said. Vaccination is only being offered to those over 75 years old.
The vaccine will be available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 2550 Buckingham Rd. in Burlington.
Those coming for vaccinations are asked to enter McKinney Street from the east bound lanes of North Church Street. People should expect potential wait times of multiple hours.
