Burlington business owner Ricky Carver, of Carver’s Restaurant, is currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Friends of the family have started a GoFundMe campaign to help offset medical costs and losses from a temporary closure of the restaurant.
Carver’s Restaurant, located at 3352 S. Church St. in Burlington, shut down on Sunday, Nov. 29 after three staff members, including Carver, and some of their family members tested positive. Carver was admitted to the hospital at that time, according to the restaurant’s social media page.
The other sick staff members and their families are on the path to recovery at home, the restaurant noted.
The restaurant remained closed until Monday, Dec. 7, at which point many staff members were released from quarantine, according to the restaurant’s social media. Cleaning and sanitation efforts were completed before reopening.
Carver’s is operating under limited hours, open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day, until full staff returns.
“Since opening Carver’s in 1993, Ricky has employed many Alamance County residents, been a pillar of our community and has become extended family to his patrons. We are coming to you as friends of the family with a request to help support them during this difficult time,” the GoFundMe page read.
