Marguerite Emerson "Emma" Holt of Burlington and Philip Gerald Maggi of Midlothian, Va. were wed at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at First Presbyterian Church in Burlington. Dr. Ronald L. Shive officiated and music was by J. Patrick Murphy, organist, and Robert K. McConnell, trumpeter.
The bride is the daughter of Michael McElwee Holt and Katherine Morrison Holt of Burlington. She is the granddaughter of Ralph Manning Holt Jr. and Eda Contiguglia Holt of Burlington, Robert William Morrison Jr. of Raleigh and the late Annie McCants Morrison.
The groom is the son of Philip James Maggi and Frances Marie Maggi of Midlothian, Va. He is the grandson of Ralph Richard Maggi Sr. and Lillian Ruth Maggi and Thomas Lincoln Jacobellis and Mary Helen Jacobellis, all deceased.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Maid of honor was Amanda Holt of Atlanta, Ga. Bridesmaids were Cameron Durham of Goldsboro; Carolina Rosas of Boston, Mass.; Sarah Kerr of Richmond, Va.; Jamee Allen of Bethesda, Md.; Michelle Jackson of Henrico, Va.; and Emily Reilly of Temple, Texas.
Best man was Blake Nelson of Huntersville, N.C. Groomsmen were Frankie Mast of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; John Luzon of Midlothian, Va.; Mike Whited of Austin, Texas; Frank Obermeyer of Dayton, Ohio; Pat Rouleau of Clifton, Va. and Tyler Jackson of Henrico, Va.
The bride earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Richmond (class of 2017) and Master of Science in Business Analytics from William & Mary (class of 2018).
The groom earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from Virginia Tech (class of 2017).
The couple met in Blacksburg, Va.
They will travel to St. Lucia and will reside in Winston-Salem.
