BURLINGTON — A Burlington woman has been accused of misusing her elderly mother’s money for herself, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office said.
On Thursday, May 18, 2023, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit began an investigation after family members reported that Marilyn Annette Ingram, 61, was abusing her legal power of attorney to misuse her money, the sheriff’s office said.
Warrants were obtained for Ingram on Tuesday, March 19, for charges of felony exploitation of an elder adult and felony obtaining property by false pretenses. Ingram turned herself in at the sheriff’s Office on Thursday, March 21. Her bond was set at $10,000 secured.
