The 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attack is Saturday. The following events will be held in and around Alamance County to commemorate the anniversary.
Stair Climbs
The sixth annual F3 Burlington 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will be held Saturday morning starting at 7 a.m. To commemorate the 110 stories climbed by first responders on 9/11, participants will climb the stairs at Williams High School's memorial stadium.
"We invite everyone ... to join us as we do our part to ensure that the 412 first responders who were killed as a result of the attack are never forgotten," the event's social media post reads.
Rucksacks and weighted vests are encouraged but not required during the stair climb. Weights, sandbags and more will be available for those who want them.

The Greensboro 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Registration and the opening ceremony will be held at Center City Park, 200 N. Elm St., Greensboro, with the stair climb to follow at the Bellemeade Parking Deck.
Participation is free, but donations are accepted. All proceeds are donated to charity.

Moment of Remembrance
The City of Burlington will hold a moment of remembrance at 8:46 a.m. Saturday. At this time, the city's six fire stations and police vehicles stationed across the city will sound their sirens.
Residents are encouraged to ring bells at this time to join in the commemoration.
Following the moment of remembrance, Studio One will present a youth production of 110 Stories, a 9/11 Tribute by playwright Sarah Taft, at the Historic Depot in downtown Burlington.
"Based on interviews, this docu-play weaves together multiple stories that capture the shock and horror of that day as well as the resilience of New York City in its aftermath," city officials said.
The play will be performed at 9:30 a.m. and admission is free. Donations benefiting Allied Church of Alamance County are welcome.
5K Run
The City of Graham will host its inaugural 9/11 Commemorative 5K Run/Walk on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m.
Participation is free, but runners must register online by 11:59 p.m. Sept. 9. Optional donations will be accepted for the Children of Fallen Heroes organization.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m. before the 9:30 a.m. 5K start.
All ages are welcome. Medals and a First responders Team Cup will be awarded.
The event will also include a Fun Run, food trucks, community organization booths, a Kid’s Zone, blood drive, and music provided by the band South of Southern.

Rugby Tournament
The Triad 9/11 Fallen Heroes Rugby Tournament will be held at Northeast park in Gibsonville from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hosted by the Triad Rugby Football Club, the tournament will benefit local Triad fire departments. Men's and women's teams can register for $300 per team and spectators are welcome.
A silent auction will be held with special event jerseys and the proceeds will be donated to area fire departments.

Memorial Services
Gibsonville United Methodist Church will host a 9/11 Memorial Service at 10 a.m. Sunday. The outdoor service will remember 9/11 and honor past and present first responders.
First responders in attendance will receive a special gift.

Memorial Ride
A 9/11 Ride to Remember will be held in McLeansville on Saturday.
Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. at 5440 Millstream Road, McLeansville, and the ride will begin at 11 a.m.
Costs are $20 per rider and $10 per passenger. All proceeds will go to Tunnel to Towers.
