CLEMMONS — Mr. Terry Lee “T.J.” Small Jr., 46, resident of Clemmons, died March 18, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
He was born January 19, 1978 in Cocoa Beach, Florida, a son to Terry Lee Small Sr. and Julie Beecher Small. At an early age, his family moved to Burlington, NC and there he remained during his youth. In 2002, he married the former Heather Adams, who survives of their residence in Clemmons. T.J. had a passion for cars, and worked as a mechanic at their family business, Twin City Automotive. He also loved “Grumpy” of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. More than anything else, he loved his family, as well as his extended families at Twin City Auto and Shop Fix. He will be dearly missed.
In addition to his wife, Heather, T.J. is survived by a daughter, Hannah Small of Clemmons; two sons, Adam Small of Clemmons and Jeremy Small of Burlington; his parents, Terry and Julie Small of Burlington; two special cousins, David Small and Tracy Small; best friend, Justin Todd; several aunts and uncles; and his special dogs, Cami and Finley. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter and Margaret Small; and maternal grandparents, Les and Scharlotte Beecher.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. David M. Emery officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are Justin Todd, TJ Newton, Stan Andrewski, Lowell Greene, Rodney Byerly, Douglas Hunter, Jack Getz and Josh Smith. Attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably, like T.J. would.
