One person is dead and three others were injured in a collision Thursday afternoon at the Mebane Street and Summit Avenue intersection in Burlington.
Police say Jessica Kate Downey, 41, of Greensboro, was driving east on Mebane Street, near Pine Hill Cemetery, when a car driving west crossed the center turn lane and hit her vehicle head-on.
Jessica Downey died as a result of the crash. Her two passengers, William Cupp, 20, of Greensboro, and Jaden Downey, 18, of Greensboro, are both in serious condition at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, according to a press release from the Burlington Police Department.
The driver of the second vehicle, Sherry Lynn Jones, 49, of Burlington, is in serious condition at Duke University Hospital, the press release said.
